Q: Is there any music downloadable from the Frank Zappa Database (fzdb)?
A: No.

Q: May I ask for trades here, for example in the comments?
A: No, please don’t. If you’re looking for trades, please visit online communities like zappateers, phishhook, etree and others (google them). Zappateers, working together with "The Dangerous Kitchen", is by far the best online resource for Zappa recordings.

Q: I have a .shn or .flac that’s not in the fzdb, and I have not seeded or created it. Am I allowed to add it anyways?
A: Yes, please report it.

Q: Is it allowed to criticize a recording in the comments?
A: Basically yes, because this database collects information, and information about bad edits, bad tracking, dropouts, diginoise or other flaws (if not already mentioned in the textfiles) is requested here. But please be as polite as possible in your comments. Insulting comments will become deleted without further discussion.
Example for okay criticism: “After 5 minutes of listening to the first track I gave up: skip at 1:34, 1:46, 2:44, 3:15 and 4:01. We desperately need a new and flawless seed of this great show.
Example for not-okay criticism: “The insane idiot who spreads his mp3-sourced shit all over the world again did a bad job.” (A comment like this will be deleted without warning and discussion).

Q: I have an online list of my show collection. Am I allowed to link my recordings on my tradelist with detail-pages of this database?
A: Yes, but please make sure that your recording has exactly the same md5’s or ffp like the show/source you’re linking it to.

Q: I have a Frank Zappa .shn/.flac here that's in circulation, it's not in the fzdb, and a Spectral Analysis has showed that the .wavs are mp3-sourced. Should this seed be reported?
A: Yes, please report it. Add to your report, that it is mp3-sourced. This information will then be entered into the source info line. Since the fzdb would like to be an information pool, information like this is welcome here.

Q: I own Frank Zappa .flac and .shns that aren't listed here. Why is that?
A: The most likely reason is that nobody has reported them to the fzdb yet and that the administrator himself doesn't know about them. So simply report them to addshow@fzdb.de and they will be listed soon.

Q: I've added a show via email, but it doesn't show up yet. What's the deal?
A: The administrator hasn't added it yet, either because he's too busy or too lazy. Be patient, it'll show up some time (and thanks for your addition).
